India Tote (by Stephanie Medley)
Traditional fabric from India brought to you by traveler Stephanie Medley.
The fabric was purchased in New Delhi, India. The fabric shop was tucked away in the market place and inside was filled with brilliant colorful designs and patterns that show cased the culture centered in India. I noticed that most designs were inspired by the Peacocks that roam free, with designs featuring their colors and feathers. One of the most memorable places was Jahaz-Mahal or Ship Palace and everywhere I went I met amazing people who were just as curious about me as I was about India. Many people stopped to take pictures with Americans and were very friendly. The most memorable experience I had was being invited to attend Dusshera which is a traditional religious celebration. I was honored to sit on stage and take part in this celebration.
