Farming

A loan helped to buy nutrient-rich fertilizers to expand her tea farm to elevate the standard of living for her beautiful children.

Sarah's story

Sarah (pictured on her tea farm) is the pillar behind the economic elevation of her family. She has gained so many benefits from farming. She has made profits and earned independence and job security over the last few years. Sarah is married and lives with her husband and four children in a remote village in Nyamira County of Kenya. She is a committed and devoted tea and animal farmer, who entirely depends on her farming business. Sarah has used part of her savings from agriculture to send her lovely children to school.

Sarah is seeking a loan of 20,000 KES to buy certified seeds and nutrient-rich fertilizers to expand her tea farm. By scaling up her business, she will proportionally reduce production costs and increase output. Her strategy is to use the returns from the investment to pay for more farm inputs. Lack of farm inputs has been a major problem that leads to the closing of many farms due to poor quantity and quality of yields. She should, therefore, be able to increase her profit. This will elevate her standard of living, as well as that of her beautiful children. Kindly lend to her as she looks forward to excelling in this second half of 2019!

This loan is special because:

It finances smallholder farmers to purchase dairy cows, chickens, cereals, farm inputs and farming equipment.
