Neka Bua Group's story

These three women just joined the Neka Bua group as new members. Aranci, who is 41 years old, represents the group. On the death of her husband three years ago, she automatically become breadwinner for her four children, who range in age from 6 to 14 years old. All of them are still enrolled in school. To make a living, Aranci sells vegetables at a local market. Luckily, she was involved in this before her husband died so she had experience in this trade. Every day she spends IDR 100,000 to buy vegetables to sell and earns about IDR 50,000 to 75,000. She would like to sell more items such as tomatoes, lettuce, spices, pumpkin, and spinach, and is requesting a loan to make this happen. Two of her neighbors are interested joining the Neka Bua group with her. They are requesting a loan from IDR 6,000,000 from Kiva and TLM to improve their businesses.
