Chhoeum's Group's story
A resident of Banteay Meanchey province, Chhoeum is 39 years old and is married with five dependent children, three of whom are in school and the other one is under the age of school.
The main source of income for this family is growing rice while additional income comes from growing vegetables and raising pigs. Chhoeume earns about USD 13 per day and can save about USD 4 each day. A drop in the price of the rice crop is the main challenge for her.
She decided to form a group which comprises six members to apply for loans from VisionFund. As the group leader, she will use her loan to buy a wardrobe. She hopes to earn more income to expand her current business and to uplift her lifestyle.
