2020: Your Impact

January 01, 2021

As we put a bow on 2020, there’s one thing on our minds: Gratitude

We’re so grateful for your unconditional support over these past 12 months. Without you, we wouldn't be able to do what we do. As we like to say, "it takes a village." And we are so thankful that you are our village!

Although 2020 was full of uncertainty and struggle, it was also full of impact.

Together, we did a lot of good this year:

In January, your support allowed us to donate over $1,200 to aid communities and animals impacted by the Australia bushfires.

Then in April, you donated thousands of face masks to healthcare workers on the front lines of the pandemic.

Then in November, you supported Refugees and the planet by ordering our brand new bracelets. Each bracelet provides sustainable work for Refugees living in America. And they also help reduce waste by giving every last strip of Taaluma fabric an adventure of its own.

And that’s not all…

Because of your support in 2020, we funded 173 new microloans for farmers and small business owners worldwide!

Like Jane from Kenya, who used her loan to buy more seeds for her farm.

And Elier from Nicaragua, who is using his loan to add more products in his grocery store.

All this impact. All thanks to you!

I guess hindsight is 20/20 after all.

Here’s to making 2021 the best (and most impactful) year yet & to feeling good—because after all, it’s Friday!

A Rwanda'ring Hero

Kigali is a beautiful hilly city, quite green and very clean. People are super nice and eager to tell you about their history, including the genocide. Rwanda does not allow plastic bags, so, unlike other African countries, there is no plastic flying around or laying on the streets.
